Assessing polarization effects for the Airborne imaging spectrometer APEX
[摘要] In the scope of hyperspectral airborne imaging spectrometer (APEX)design activities, the acceptable sensitivity of linearpolarization of the spectrometer is analyzed by assessing theamount of polarization of reflected light in theatmosphere-surface system. A large number of calculationsis performed for a wide variaty of viewing geometries to study theinfluences of aerosol models, natural surfaces and flightaltitudes over the spectral range from the near-UV to theshort-wave infrared (SWIR).

Thereinafter the design of the imaging spectrometer is outlinedaccounting for these requirements and a method of partiallycorrecting the instrument polarization sensitivity is brieflyintroduced. APEX design and post-processing capabilities willenable to reduce the influence of polarization sensitivity ofat-sensor radiance and its higher-level products generated formost of the observation conditions.
