4-D comparison method to study the NOy partitioning in summer polar stratosphere – Influence of aerosol burden
[摘要] On 21–22 August 2001, NO, NO2 and HNO3 mixing ratio profiles weremeasured at high latitudes during sunset and sunrise using the Limb ProfileMonitor of the Atmosphere (LPMA) and the DOAS experiments understratospheric balloon. Photochemical simulations using the chemistry moduleof the Reprobus Chemistry Transport Model (CTM) that are constrained byozone and total NOy balloon observations reproduce well thepartitioning of NOx and NOy when model results are calculated atthe exact time and location of the measurement for each tangent altitude.Taking the recently recommended reaction rate coefficients for the NOypartitioning (JPL-2003) and using realistic aerosol surface area in order toinitialise the model leads to an agreement between calculations andmeasurements better than 10% all over the covered altitude range.
