[摘要] Insitudegradabilityexperimentswithforages,browse,cropresiduesandby-productsincattle,sheepandgoatswerecarriedouttoassessnutritionalvalueandpotentialuseasfeed.The48hrdrymatterdegradabilitydatasuggestthatmanyitemsavailableinlargeamountsinhumidtropicalAfricacouldbeusedassupplementstodryseasonforagesoflownutritivevalue.DegradabilityrangedfrommediumforLeucaenaandGliricidia(68%),wingedbeanforage(65%)andgreencornstover(68%)tohighforcassavaleaves(84%),cowpeahusk(74%),foofooresidue(78%),plantainpeels(74%),maizebran(81%),cassavapeels(83%),yampeels(86%)andsweetpotatopeels(95%).Valuesforbrowse,cropresiduesandby-productswerehigherthanthosefor5dryseasonforages(meanof56%)andunderlinetheirpotentialnutritivevalue.
