A comparison of sugar cane juice and maize as energy sources in diets for growing pigs with equal supply of essential amino acids
[摘要] Twoexperimentswereperformedwithgrowingpigs,givendietsbasedonmaizeorsugarcanejuice,balancedfor8essentialaminoacids,fibre,oil,calcium,phosphateandsodium.TheexperimentaldietswereformulatedbyMultipleObjectiveProgramming(MOP)usingconventionalsupplements.Inthefirstexperiment,liveweightgainswere634±12.7g/dayformaizeand732±12.6g/dayforsugarcanejuice;respectivebackfats(P2)were13.5±0.32and14.7±0.36mm.Thegainsinthesecondexperiment(whentherelativeamountsofmaizeandsugarcanejuicewereadjusted)were760±16.1and616±9.4g/dayrespectively;correspondingbackfatswere13.2±0.51and11.1±0.48mm.Therewereonlysmalldifferencesincarcassweight,killing-outpercentageandbackfatthicknesswhichcanbeexplainedbydifferencesinliveweightgainsresultingfromactualfeedconsumption.Theresultsdonotsupportpreviousconclusionsthattherearedifferencesinleanandfatgrowthbetweensugarcanejuiceandmaizediets.TheimportanceofcorrectbalanceofnutrientsandthevalueoftheMOPtechniqueinthisexperimentisstressed.
