Effect of protein supply in cassava root meal based diets on the performance of growing-finishing pigs
[摘要] Thisexperimentwascarriedoutinordertodeterminetheeffectofcrudeprotein(CP)supplyderivedfromsoya-beanmeal(SBM)onperformanceandcarcasscharacteristicsofgrowingpigsfedcassavarootmeal(CRM)adlibitumasthesoleenergysource.Fortyeightcommercialtypecastratesandgiltsaveraging31.4kginitialweightwererandomlydistributedtooneofsixtreatmentswith150,200,250,300,350or400gCP/dayfromSBM,withfourreplicatesinacompletelyrandomizeddesign.DailyintakesofCRMdeclinedwithincreasingSBMsupply(P=0.056),buttotalDMintakesincreasedslightly.Dailyliveweightgain(Yg=kg/day)andfeedconversionratio(Yfc=kgDM/kggain)wererelatedquadraticallytothesupplyofCP:Yg=0.294+1.668X-1.89X²(r²=0.79)andYfc=4.56-7.87X+10.8X²(r²=0.53).AsthedietaryCPsupplyincreased,dressingpercentageandbackfatthicknesstendedtodecreaseandLongissimusdorsiarea(P=0.099)andIodineindexofbackfat(P=0.022)increasedlinearly.Kidneyweightsincreasedsignificantly(P=0.03)withincreaseddietaryCPsupply.Theapparentdigestibilityofthedietswasslightlyhigherforfinishingthanforgrowingpigs.Thelowestdietarycost/kgliveweightgainwasforthedietwith200g/dayofCP(P=0.02).ItcanbeconcludedthatintheconditionsofVietnam,thefeedingofpigsthroughoutthegrowing-finishingperiodwithCRMadlibitum,combinedwith200g/dayofCPgivesacceptablegrowthperformanceandcarcassquality,andthelowestfeedcosts/kggain.
