[摘要] AfeedingtrialwascarriedtoevaluatetheuseofthewholefruitoftheAfricanoilpalmasthebasaldietoffatteningpigs.Fourisocaloricdietswereformulatedinwhichtheoilpalmfruitreplaced25,50,75or100%ofgrainsorghum.Thecombinationsofsorghumandoilpalmfruitwerecomplementedwithsoyabeanmeal(plusmineralsandvitamins)inamountscalculatedtoprovide200gsoyabeanproteindaily.Thefruitwasfedwhole,afterbeingseparatedfromtheraceme.Averageliveweightgainswere625,598,503and466g/dayovertheoverallfatteningperiod(25to90kg)forthefourlevelsofsubstitution.Feedconversionrates(DMbasis)were:3.2,3.2,3.3and3.4.Theeconomicanalysisfavouredthedietwithcompletesubstitutionofsorghumbytheoilpalmfruit.Itwasobservedthatthepigseasilyextractedtheoil(andothernutrients)fromthefleshypartofthefruitaswellasfromthekernel,withnoneedforpriorprocessing.
