[摘要] Aself-selectionexperimentwascarriedoutwithweanedlambs(TropicalHairsheepbreed)toestablishpreferencesforvariouslocalfeedresourcescommonlyincludedinthedietoftheseanimalswhenmanagedinconfinement.Theseincluded:sugarcanetops,foliageofTrichanteragigantea(aforagetreefromthecoffeegrowingregionofColombia),foliageofGliricidiasepium,foliageofLeucaenaleucocephala,amolasses-ureablockandpoultrylitter.Atotalof9animalswasuseddividedinthreehomogeneousgroups.Relativeintakes(kgDM/100kgliveweight/day)were:Gliricidiasepium1.84,sugarcanetops1.33,Trichanteragigantea0.73,poultrylitter0.59,Leucaenaleucocephala0.19,multinutritionalblock0.12(SEquot;0.10;Prob=0.001).Theconsumptionofgliricidiarepresented,onaverage,38%ofthetotaldailydrymatterintake.Itissuggestedthatthefactorwhichmostinfluencesintakeofaparticulartreefoliageisthedegreetowhichtheanimalsareaccustomedtoeatingit.Therefore,forsometreefoliages,theanimalsneedanadequatetimetoadapttosuchfeedbeforetheyareabletoconsumeappreciablequantities.
