Growing and ensiling soybean forage between rice crops as a protein supplement for pigs in north Vietnam
[摘要] InNorthVietnamafarmingsystemoftworicecropsandonewintercropsystemiscommonbutonlyinthelandwherethesummerricecropisharvestedearly.Thechanceforawintercroptomatureisminorinthelandwherethesummercropisharvestedlate.Trialswerethereforemadetoevaluatetheuseofthelandforaforagecrop,specificallysoybeanwhichwasharvestedatthefloweringstage(60-70days).Theyieldwas8,100kgofgreenfoliagefromoneha,whichcontained360kgofcrudeproteinequaltotheamountofcrudeproteinnormallyproducedfromonehaofsoybeanharvestedasgrain.Theharvestedsoybeanfoliagewaschoppedandsupplementedwithricebran(5kgricebran:100kgofchoppedmaterial)priortoensilinginapit.Thesilagewasfedafter60-70days.Crossbredpigs(LocalxLargeWhite)wereusedasexperimentalanimals.Thesilagewasusedtosubstitute25-37%ofthecrudeproteinintherationforgrowingpigsand20-30%inthatforfatteningpigs.Thesilagewaspalatable.Thecontroldietconsistedof(%):ricebran30.5;maize50;fishmeal7.5;groundnutcake7.5;soybeanmeal3;mineralpremix1;vitaminpremix0.5.Thiswaspartiallysubstitutedinthetwotreatmentgroupsbysoybeansilagewhichprovided25.3%or37.5%ofthetotalprotein.Weightgainsfrom20to50kgwere(g/d):435quot;33.3,406quot;29.0and395quot;27.6.Resultsduringthefatteningphase(0,19,31%substitutionoftheproteinwithsoybeanfoliage)wereweightgain(g/d):610quot;12,600quot;46.7and601quot;12.6.Feedcostfor1kgofliveweightgaindecreasedby24%inthegroupsubstitutedwith30%proteinfromensiledsoybeanfoliage.
