Influence of fish meal and dehydrated brewers grains on intake, live-weight gain and rumen digestion of growing cattle consuming fresh cut forage
[摘要] Twofeedingtrialswerecarriedouttoevaluatetheinfluenceofby-passproteinontheintakeandlive-weightgain(LWG)ofgrowingcattleconsumingabasaldietoffreshcutforage.Athirdtrialwascarriedoutwithrumenfistulateddrycowstoevaluatetheeffectofthesesupplementsonsomecharacteristicsofrumenfermentation.Theuseoffishmealasasourceofby-passproteinresultedinmoderateincrementsinLWGwithouteffectsonforageconsumptionwhensubstitutingureainasupplementbasedmainlyonmaizemeal.TheuseofureaincreasedtherumenammoniaNconcentrationbutdidnotaffectthedegradationofforageinnylonbags.Theuseofasupplementbasedexclusivelyonsourcesofby-passprotein,suchasfishmealanddehydratedbrewersgrainsresultedinsmallnon-significant(Pgt;0.05)increasesinLWGcomparedwithequalamountsofasupplementwhichishighlydegradableintherumen.
