Molasses-urea block (MUB) and Acacia mangium as supplements for crossbred heifers fed poor quality forages

[摘要] Inthefirstexperiment,twentyfourcrossbredheifers,givenforagesoflownutritivevalue,weredividedequallyinto4groupswithdifferentsupplements:C1,1kg/dconcentrate;MUB,1kg/dconcentrate+0.5kg/dMUB;AM,1kg/dconcentrate+freshAcaciamangiumleaves(2kg/100kgLW);AMMUB,0.5kg/dMUB+freshAcaciamangiumleaves(2kg/100kgLW).Theexperimentperiodwas90days.DMintakeswere5.08,6.21,5.61,and5.49kg/d,andliveweightgainswere:107,340,185,236g/d,fortreatmentsC,MUB,AMandAMUB,respectively.Inexperiment2arumen-fistulatedcowwasfed3dietsinturn:C,ricestraw;MUB,ricestraw+0.5kg/dMUB;AMrice,straw+freshAcaciamangiumleaves(2kg/100kgLW).Rateofdisappearanceofricestrawincreased16-17%withMUBsupplementation.TherewasnoapparenteffectoftheAcaciamangiumleaves.
