Influence of multinutrient blocks on intake and rumen fermentation of dry cows fed basal diets of Trachypogon sp and Cynodon plectostachyus hays

[摘要] Two3x3Latinsquares,eachwiththesamethreerumenfistulateddrycows,werecarriedouttoevaluatetheinfluenceofmultinutrientblocks(MB)onhayintakeandsomeparametersofrumenfermentation.Trachypogonsphayof2.25%CPand35.5%drymatterdisappearanceat48h(DMD)wasofferedinExperiment1andCynodonplectostachyus(stargrass)hayof6.6%CPand57.6%DMDwasusedinExperiment2.Thetreatmentsevaluatedwereacontroldietbasedonhayandamineralmixtureandtwodifferentblockscontainingmainlymolasses,amineralmixture,ureaandeitherwholecottonseedorfishmeal.BlockintakewasaboutonekgperdayinExperiment1andapproximatelyhalfofthisamountinExperiment2.MBappreciablyincreasedhayintakeandrumenammoniaNinExperiment1(Plt;0.05)anddidnotinfluencethesemeasurementsinExperiment2(Pgt;0.05).MBslightlyincreasedDMDbetween1and3percentageunitsinbothexperimentsanddidnotinfluenceotherparametersevaluated,suchasrumenpHandmolarproportionsandconcentrationsofvolatilefattyacids.TheresultsarediscussedinrelationtograzingfeedingtrialscarriedoutatthisInstitutewhereasmallinfluenceofMBonproductionparametershasbeenobserved.
