MORPHOLOGY AND GENESIS OF THE SOILS OF THE CARIBOU CATENA, IN NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA
[摘要] SoilsoftheCariboucatenaoccurintherollingUplandsofthenortheasternsectionofNewBrunswick.Thewelldrainedsoilsinthisregionaremembersofthepodzolgreatsoilgroup.Foursoilprofiles,representingthecatenarysequence,wereselectedforstudy.Investigationincludedbothfieldandlaboratorystudies.Fieldstudiesindicatedthatprofilesofallsoilsinthebetterdrainedpositionshadthesamehorizonsequencebutthesolabecamethinnertowardsthebaseofaslope.TheA2horizoninthewelldrainedpositionwasreplacedbyanA1intheimperfectlyandpoorlydrainedpositions.Thesolaofallsoilspossessedhighpercolationratesandlowbulkdensities.Calculationsindicatedthat,whencomparedtotheChorizons,increasesinsiltandnetlossesinclayhadtakenplaceinallhorizonsofthewelldrainedandimperfectlydrainedsoils.TheprofilesshowedmarkedgainsinorganicmatterintheA0,A1andBhorizons.AluminiumhadaccumulatedintheBhorizonsofallprofiles.Asmalln...
