ASSESSING NITROGEN REQUIREMENTS OF SOME ALBERTA SOILS
[摘要] FiftyAlbertasoils,representingthesixsoilzonesoftheProvince,weresampledforgreenhouseandlaboratorytests.Fivesuccessivecropsofoatswereproducedingreenhousetestsinvolvinganumberofdifferentnitrogenapplications.Inthelaboratorythesoilsweresubjectedtoanumberofdifferentnitrogentests,includingthreemethodsofincubationfornitrateaccumulation.Analyticaldatawerethencorrelatedwithgreenhouseyields.Alsoavailableforcorrelationweresomedataonfertilizerresponsesinthefield.Nitratenitrogenaccumulatinginunleachedsoilsaftera2-weekIncubationperiodat28°C.showedthebestpositivecorrelationwithcropyieldandthelowestnegativecorrelationwithcropresponsetoaddednitrogen.Correlationwasgood,however,onlywhengrowingconditionswerecarefullycontrolled.Usingleachedsoilsfortheincubationtestorusinga4-weekincubatingperiodresultedinlowervalues.Totalnitrogen,'available'nitrogen,andNvaluesappearedtobeoflittlev...
