EFFECT OF CROPPING SYSTEMS AND FERTILIZERS ON MEAN WEIGHT-DIAMETER OF AGGREGATES OF BRETON PLOT SOILS
[摘要] AggregateanalysesofBretonplotsoilsusingawetsievingtechniquerevealedmarkeddifferencesresultingfromcroppingpracticesbutfew,ifany,duetofertilizers.Themeanweight-diameterofsoilsfromplotsina5-yearrotationofgrainsandlegumeswasalmostdoublethediameterofsoilsfromplotsinawheat-fallowsequence.Withrespecttofertilizers,however,meanweight-diameterofsoilsfromhighyieldingplotsineithercroppingsystemwereingeneralsimilartothoseonlow-yieldingplotsofthesysteminquestion.Incidentallypolysaccharidecontentofthesoilshowedadefiniterelationshiptomeanweight-diameter.
