[摘要] ThemicrobiologyofaFibrisol(littledecomposed),aMesisol,andaHumisol(highlyfermented)werecomparedtoadepthof1.25 m.Countsofupto2millionpsychrophilicbacteriapergramoven-dryweightwerecommonfortheshallowfibrichorizons,whilstthedeeperandmorehumifiedlayersgenerallyhadmuchhighercountsof3–10million.Mesophilicbacteriawereaboutone-fifthmoreabundant,butthermophilesaveragedlessthan1million.Theinfluenceofaerationinthetop15 cmincreasedcountsnoticeably.From1to6millionfungiwerepresentinthetop25 cmbutnumbersdroppedsharplyaroundthisdepth.TheabundanceofCytophagaandChromobacteriumspeciesintheHumisol,andinthehumichorizonsofMesisol,isinterestinganditssignificanceisdiscussed.Physiologicalstudiesconcentratedonthenitrogencycle,withdeterminationsofnitrification,denitrification,ammonificationandnitrogenfixationbeingmade.Theonlysignificantconversionwasthatofproteinstoammonia,andquot;mostpr...
