THE INFLUENCE OF FERTILIZER PLACEMENT AND RATE OF NITROGEN ON FERTILIZER PHOSPHORUS UTILIZATION BY OATS AS STUDIED USING A CENTRAL COMPOSITE DESIGN
[摘要] Agreenhousestudywasconductedtodeterminetheoptimumfertilizerphosphorusplacementforoatsandtodeterminetheinfluenceofnitrogenrateontheabsorptionoffertilizerphosphorus.Acentralcompositedesigninthreevariableswasusedtopermitthedevelopmentofquadraticequationstoexpresstheresponsecriteriaasfunctionsoftheplacementvariables—horizontaldistanceanddepthfromtheseed—andrateofnitrogen.Thefertilizerphosphorusabsorptionwasdeterminedatfourstagesofgrowth,thelaststagebeing58daysafterplanting.Thedryweightoftops,totalphosphoruscontentandpercentofthephosphorusderivedfromthefertilizerweredeterminedatthecompletionoftheexperiment58daysafterplanting.Atthe14-daystagefertilizerphosphorusabsorptionwasgreatestfromfertilizerplacedwiththeseedbut,atthe28-and42-daystages,wasgreatestfromfertilizerplaced1inchtothesideand2or3inchesbelowtheseed.Atthe58-daystage,fertilizerplacedwiththese...
