Revision of Pycnandra subgenus Sebertia (Sapotaceae) and a generic key to the family in New Caledonia
[摘要] ThesatellitegenusSebertia(Sapotaceae,Chrysophylloideae)inNewCaledoniaishererecognizedasPycnandrasubgenusSebertia,agroupcomprisingonlytwospecies.PycnandracanaliculataisdescribedandillustratedasnewfromthesouthpartofGrandeTerrewhereitoccursinmaquisvegetationandhumidforestonultramaficsoils,oftenalongwatercourses.ThisspeciesiswellknownamongmanybiologistsbutmisidentifieduntilnowasSebertiagatopensis,asynonymofP.blanchoniithatresidesinnorthwestGrandeTerre.InNewCaledonia,PycnandraistheonlysapotaceousgenuswithflowersthatlackstaminodesandPycnandrasubgenusSebertiaischaracterizedbysmallwhiteflowersandfruitslackingstylarremnants.Thefruitsarecharacteristicwithascale-likeepidermisthatistranslucentandpeelsoffinP.acuminataversusbrownandpersistentinP.canaliculata.UsingfielddataandapplyingIUCNcriteria,weassessthepreliminarythreatasLeastConcern(LC)forP.acuminataandVulnerable(VU)forP.canaliculata.
