Elaphoglossum nimbaense J.P.Roux, sp. nov. (Pteridophyta: Dryopteridaceae), a new fern species from Liberia, West Africa

[摘要] ElaphoglossumnimbaenseJ.P.Roux,sp.nov.,anewepiphyticfernspecieswhichappearstobeendemictotheNimbaMountainsinLiberia,WestAfricaisdescribedandillustrated.FeaturesseparatingE.nimbaenseJ.P.Roux,sp.nov.fromotherspeciesinsectionElaphoglossumSchottexJ.Sm.arethecrustaceous,centrallydarkandglossy,pseudopeltaterhizomescales,theconspicuousshortstipeofthesterilefronds—thefertilefrondstipesaresignificantlylonger,thesomewhatcarnose,attenuate,longacuminatesterilelaminae.Thesignificantlylargeradaxialepidermalcellsofthefertilelaminaeincomparisonwiththatofthesterilelaminaeandthereticulate(impresso-punctate)adaxialepidermisofthefertilelaminae,perhapscausedbythecollapseofbladdercells(enlargedmoisturecontainingepidermalcells)withstraighttransversewallsisalsocharacteristicofthespecies.ThenomenclatureofsectionElaphoglossumandsubsectionsthereinarediscussed.
