Flower vascularisation in Solanaceae: a particular pattern in Metternichia J.G.Mikan
[摘要] ThedelimitationandrelationshipofseveralgeneraofSolanaceaearenotresolvedyet.ThesystematicpositionofMetternichiaprincipisJ.G.Mikanhaslongbeendiscussed;recentlyitwassplitfromCestreaeG.DontoamonotypictribeMetternichieaeMiers.ThelastproposalwassupportedmainlybytheparticularchromosomenumberofMetternichia.Inaddition,somepollen,antherandseedcharacterswereusedtoseparateMetternichiafromSesseaRuizamp;Pav.,thegenusmorphologicallymostcloselyrelated.Ananatomicalandvascularanalysisoftheflowerwasconductedtolookforcharactersthatcontributetoitssystematicposition.TheplacentaltissueplacedinthebaseoftheseptumhasneverbeendescribedbeforeinotherSolanaceaespecies.Moreover,theprocessofformationofthemiddlepetals,staminalbundlesandthetwovasculararcsplacedonthebaseoftheovary,areparticularitiesthathavenotbeenreportedbeforeinthefamily.ThepresenceoftwovasculararcsonthebaseoftheovaryseemstobeprimitivefeaturesinthefamilyasithappensinHumbertiamadagascariensisLam.(Convolvulaceae).Thevascularcharactersinadditiontochromosomal,pollen,antherandseedcharacters,postulatedbyotherauthors,supporttheindependenceofM.principisfromCestreae.Resultsarediscussedandcomparedwithpreviousreportsonthefamily.
