A new species of Symplocos (Symplocaceae) from Mont Panié (New Caledonia)
[摘要] MontPanié,thehighestmountainonNewCaledonia,hasarichanddistinctiveflora.AnewspecieswasrecentlycollectedandisheredescribedinthegenusSymplocos(Symplocaceae),whichisnowrepresentedbysevenspeciesinNewCaledonia,allendemic.SymplocospaniensisPillonamp;Nooteboom,sp.nov.ismostsimilartoS.neocaledonica(Vieill.)Nooteboom,fromwhichitdiffersbyitsshorterleaveswithroundedapex,andthemoreevendispositionoftheleavesalongthetwigs.ThisprovidesfurtherevidencethattheMontPaniéchain,whichalsoincludesMontColnettandMontIgnambi,isstillunder-collected.
