Contribution à la connaissance des Primulaceae (ex Myrsinaceae) de Nouvelle-Calédonie. II. Le genre Rapanea Aubl.

[摘要] TheNewCaledonianfloraisexceptionallyrichinspecieslinkedtothegenusRapanea,thestudyofwhichhavingnotbeenundertakensincetheworksofMezpublishedmorethanonecenturyago,andbasedontheexaminationofasmallnumberofcollectionsmainlymadeatlowaltitudewhenthespeciationseemstohavebeenveryactiveinmountainousareas,oftennoteasytoaccess.TheabundantmaterialpreservedtodayinParis,thankstothespecimenscollectedinthecourseofthelast60yearsbythebotanistsoftheMuseum(GuillauminandaboveallH.S.MacKee),oftheIRD(formerlyORSTOM),fromtheResearchCenterofNouméa,orcomingfromforeigncountries,mainlyfromSwitzerland(Baumann,Hürlimann,Bernardi)andfromUSA(Lowry,McPherson),justifiedanewexaminationofthegroup.Thisexaminationhoweverhasproventoberatherdelicate,thedistinctionbetweenthedifferentspecies,withinagenuswithsharpboundaries,appearingsometimesuncertain,theirtaxonomicfeaturesturningouttobeenoughfluctuating,atleastinthecaseofnumerousavailablespecimens.So,thestudybelowhastobeconsideredasatemporaryfocusing,Itisabout39species,severalofthemincludingoneorafewvarieties.Wehaveretained11ofthe14speciesmentionedbyGuillaumininhisFloreanalytiqueetsynoptiquedelaNouvelle-Calédonie,comeoutin1948,allofthem,excepttwo,describedbyMez.Theotheronesareintroducedasnew.But,followingthesurveysinthefieldactuallygoingon,subsequentworksareexpectingtopartlymodifytheproposedclassification
