The new species Aristea farafangana Goldblatt & Phillipson, sp. nov. (Iridaceae) from Madagascar, biogeographic notes on Aristea Aiton in Madagascar and a revised key to the genus
[摘要] Thenewspecies,AristeafarafanganaGoldblattamp;Phillipson,sp.nov.,knownfromasinglecollectionfromsoutheasternMadagascar,hassofttexturedleaves,aflattened,few-branchedstem,andinflorescences(binaterhipidia)consistingofuptotenflowers,borneonpedicelsc.4mmlong.Theinflorescencespathesandfloralbractsaredistinctiveinbeingshort,narrowatthebaseandattenuate.ThespeciesmaybemostcloselyrelatedtoA.cladocarpaBaker,whichhasuptofourflowersperbinaterhipidiumandlargerfloralbractsthatconcealthe3–4mmlongpedicels.Amorphology-basedphylogenysuggeststhatAristeainMadagascarmayhavecolonizedtheIslandfromAfricaatleastfourtimes,resultinginthepresencethereofeightspecies,sevenofthemendemic.
