[摘要] Thirteentypesofstomataalongwith18subtypesand3intermediatesubtypesbetweenbrachyparahexacyticmonopolaranddipolararereportedheretobepresentintheleavesofPterygotaalata(Roxb.)R.Br.var.alataandPterygotaalata(Roxb.)R.Br.var.irregularis(W.W.Sm.)Debamp;S.K.Basu.Thefoliarepidermalcellsareeitherpolygonal,rectangular,ortriangular,havingeitherstraightanticlinalwallsorsinuoustoundulatewalls,andisodiametricinsurfaceview.Theobservedstomataareamphibrachyparacytic,amphicyclocytic,anisocytic,anomocytic,anomotetracytic,brachyparacytic,brachyparahexacytic,brachyparatetracytic,cyclocytic,paracytic,parahexacytic(dipolar),paratetracyticandstephanocytic.Besidesthese,thepresenceofgiantstomataisasignificantfinding.Cuticularstriationsarepresentonthesubsidiarycells,epidermalcellsandsometimesevenonguardcells.
