[摘要] KineticsofaminoacidincorporationhavebeenstudiedinoocytesofRanapipiensatallstagesfromthefull-grownovarianoocyte,throughtheperiodofpituitary-inducedmaturationandseveralhoursbeyondfertilizationorartificialactivation.Also,aminoacidpoolsizesinoocyteshavebeenmeasuredatallthesestages.Poolsizesaresubjecttoconsiderablenaturalvariationintheeggstakenfromdifferentanimals.However,therateofflowofaminoacidthroughthepooland,thus,therateofproteinsynthesis,arerelativelyconstantineggsatthesamestage,evenwhentakenfromdifferentanimals.Therateofproteinsynthesisisverylowintheovarianoocytefromanunstimulatedfemaleandinoocytesuptoabout20hoursafterpituitarystimulation.Atthistimetheraterisesrapidly,reachesamaximumlevelofabout0.5μgperoocyteperhourandremainsessentiallyconstantthereafter.Neitherfertilizationnorartificialactivationhaveanyobservablequantitativeeffectonproteinsynthesis.
