Differentiation and tissue interaction during muscle development of ascidian tadpoles. An electron microscope study
[摘要] Anelectronmicroscopicstudyofdifferentiatingpresumptivemuscleterritoryofascidiantadpoleshasbeenperformed.Ithasbeenobservedthatthepresumptivemuscleterritoryisolatedatthe8-cellstageandthenculturedfortheperiodofnormalembryonicdevelopment(thatis,about20hoursat15°C)undergoeslittleifanydifferentiation.Althoughthecellsderivedfromthisterritoryseemabletosynthesizespecificmuscleproteins,theyarenotabletoorganizethemintomyofibrils.Withtheectodermaratherhighleveloforganizationofthemusclecellsisattained.Ontheotherhand,thepresumptivenotochordterritoryhaslittleornoeffect.
