1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 stimulates chondrogenesis of the chick limb bud mesenchymal cells☆
[摘要] VitaminDhasbeenknowntobeimportantforskeletaldevelopmentandgrowthbutthemechanismwherebyitaffectstheseprocessesisnotwellunderstood.WereportnowthatthehormonalmetaboliteofvitaminD3,namely1,25-dihydroxyvitaminD3,stimulateschondrogenesisinculturesofstage24chickembryolimbbudmesenchymalcells,asevidencedbymorphologicchangesaswellasbyincreasedtranscriptionofcollagentypeIIandcoreproteingenes.Thiseffectappearstobespecificto1,25(OH)2D3since24,25(OH)2D3orD3doesnotinfluencechondrogenesisinthissystem,andisprobablymediatedviathespecific1,25(OH)2D3receptorproteinwhichisundetectableinuntreatedcellsbutappearsfollowingexposuretothehormone.
