The hemolymph proteins of the blue crab, Callinectes sapidus: II. A lipoprotein serologically identical to oocyte lipovitellin☆
[摘要] Statisticalanalysesofmeanproteinandcopperconcentrationsinhemolymphsamplesfrom435femalebluecrabs(CallinectessapidusRathbun),groupedaccordingtoanarbitraryclassificationofovarysize,indicatethatthereisasignificantincreaseinproteinandcopperconcentrationsofthehemolymphduringoocytematuration.Techniquesaredescribedfortheisolationoflipovitellin,themajorhigh-densitylipoproteininmatureoocytes,andalipoproteinfromhemolymphserumwhichhasbeenfoundalmostexclusivelyinadultfemales.Thetwolipoproteinshaveidenticalmobilitiesandstainingreactionswhensubjectedtoverticalstarchgelelectrophoresis.Lipovitellinandtheserumlipoproteinareindistinguishableinanalysesusingimmunochemicaltechniques.Itisprobablethatlipovitellinissynthesizedexternaltotheovaryandtransferredtotheoocytesduringvitellogenesis.
