Polyribosome formation and RNA synthesis in the early post-fertilization stages of the sea urchin egg
[摘要] IntheunfertilizedeggoftheseaurchinParacentrotuslividusitispossibletodetectasmallnumberofpolyribosomesactiveinproteinsynthesis.Thepolyribosomalpopulationstartstoincreaserapidlyverysoonafterfertilizationandthepolyribosomesbecomeprogressivelyheavierduringthefirstcellcycle.ItissuggestedthatasaresultoftheremovalofthetranslationalinefficiencyoftheribosomesfollowingfertilizationthemRNAchainsbecomemorecrowdedwithribosomes.Veryshortlyafterfertilization,indeedevenbeforethefirstcleavage,arapidlylabelednon-ribosomalheterogeneousRNAissynthesizedthatbecomesattachedtothepolyribosomes.
