[摘要] Duringthetimethateggsaredeveloping,thefatbodyfromfemaleLeucophaeamaderaesynthesizesaproteinwithcharacteristicssimilartoasubunitofthemajoryolkprotein.Synthesisdoesnotoccurorismuchreducedinfatbodiesfrommales,nymphs,andabdomensamputatedfromadultfemalesbeforetheonsetofeggdevelopment.Topicalapplicationofananalogofthejuvenilehormoneinitiatesthedevelopmentofeggsinisolatedabdomens.Fortyhoursafterhormonaltreatmentandpriortoanobviouschangeintheeggs,labeledleucineisincorporatedintoafractionthatcanbeisolatedfromthefatbodytogetherwithaddedyolkprotein.Thisfractionexhibitsthesamesedimentationcharacteristicsasthesubunitoftheyolkproteinduringdensitygradientcentrifugation.
