Studies on embryonic induction using radioactive tracers: II. The mobilization of protein components during induction of the lens

[摘要] 1.1.ThetransferofC14,presentedinphenylalanine,fromeyecupstoinvitroinducedlensesofXenopushasbeenmeasuredwithhigh-resolutionautoradiography.2.2.Thetracerisdistinctlydirectedtothedevelopinglens,andverylittleisdivertedelsewhere.At6hours,butnotthereafter,patchesofRNA-richgraftcytoplasmneartothelensappeardepletedoflabeledproteins.3.3.Thelabelingofcytoplasmrelativetothenucleusisgreaterinthelensthaninthegraft,anddecreasesgraduallyfrom6to48hoursinbothorgans.Therelativelabelingofnuclearcomponents,viz.,nucleolarapparatus(nucleolusplusassociatedchromatin),remainingchromatin,andnuclearmembrane(withapposedmaterials),remainsconstantduringthattime.4.4.Theobservedtransferisviewedasconsistingofbothsmallmoleculesandcomplex,morespecific,moleculesorparticles.
