Biochemical studies of the developing mammalian fetus: I. Urea cycle enzymes☆
[摘要] Fourenzymesoftheureacyclehavebeenstudiedintheliversoffetal,neonatal,andadultratsandpigs.Thedevelopmentofthefourenzymesforureasynthesisintheliveroffetalratswasfoundtobeasynchronous,andureadidnotappeartobesynthesizedatasignificantrateuntillatefetallife.Allfourenzymeswerefoundtobepresentatsignificantlevelsintheliveroftheyoungestpigembryostudied(28days).Thespeciesdifference,whichisquitemarked,hasbeendiscussedinrelationtothefetalmembranesofthetwoanimalsandthematurationofthefetusandnewborn.Inaddition,therelationofthesedevelopmentalpatternstothetheoryofrecapitulationandthedevelopmentoftheexcretorymechanismhasalsobeendiscussed.
