Source of collagen at epitheliomesenchymal interfaces during inductive interaction☆
[摘要] Thedatareportedindicatethatembryonicsalivarymesenchyme,initiallylabeledwithtritiatedprolineorglycine,transmitsalabelablematerialacrossafiltermembranebetweenthemesenchymeandsalivaryepithelium.Thematerialaccumulatesattheepithelialsurfacewithadistributionsimilartothatofultrastructurallyidentifiablecollagen.Thesuggestionthatthelabelactuallyisincollagenisinconformitywith,butnotconclusivelydemonstratedby,thefactsthatcollagenisrichinprolineandglycineandthelabelisremovedbycollagenasetreatmentofsectionsbutnotbyhyaluronidasetreatment.Ontheotherhand,embryonicsalivaryepitheliuminitiallylabeledwithprolineorglycinedoesnotsimilarlydepositlabelinapatternwhichcoincideswiththedistributionofcollagen.Thedataareinterpretedtofavorthehypothesisthatbasementmembraneformationinvolvestransferofsolubletropocollagenfromthemesenchyme,whereitissynthesized,totheepithelialsurface,whereitispolymerized.
