Developmental genetics of a lethal mutation, muscular dysgenesis (mdg), in the mouse: II. Developmental analysis☆☆☆
[摘要] Thedevelopmentalanalysisofthelethalmutation,musculardysgenesis(mdg),revealsthatthemyopathyresultsfromageneticallydeterminedspecificinterferencewithskeletalmusclecelldifferentiation.Adescriptionofthemorphogenesisofmutantsispresented,withparticularemphasisonthehistogenesisofskeletalmuscle.Abnormalitiesarefirstapparentinembryoshomozygousforthemdgmutationatthetimewhenmyoblastsdifferentiateintostriatedmyotubes,regardlessoftheembryonicageatwhichthisoccursinthevariousmuscles.Subsequently,allskeletalmusclecellsdegenerate.Otherabnormalitiesofthemdgsyndrome,suchastheskeletalanomalies,appeartoresultfromthemuscledeficiency,demonstratinginteractionbetweenskeletalmusculatureandothersystemsduringembryogenesis.Thedevelopmentaleffectsofthemdgmutationillustrategeneactiononthecellularlevelbythespecificinterferencewithdifferentiationofcellsofaparticularhistotype,theskeletalmyoblasts.
