[摘要] Theexperimentsreportedhereshowthatgulonolactoneoxidase—theenzymecatalyzingthesynthesisofascorbicacidfromgulonolactone—iswidelydistributedintheearlychickblastodermandthatinthecourseofdifferentiationthissyntheticactivitydisappearsfromalltissuesexaminedexceptthekidney,whereitconcentrates.Thisparallelstheevolutionarylossofascorbicacidsynthesis,whichhasbeenshowntobeduetothedeletionofthisenzyme.Inthechickembryo,asinadultanimals,gulonolactoneoxidaseismostabundantinthemicrosomes.
