Intracellular distribution of glucose-6-phosphatase and glycogen content in the developing chick liver☆

[摘要] Liverglucose-6-phosphataseactivityandglycogenlevelswereestimatedindevelopingembryosandchicks,commencingwiththe8-dayembryo.Differentialcentrifugationrevealedthat80–90%oftheenzymeactivitywasassociatedwiththe“mitochondrial”fractionfromday8toaboutday16;beyondthistimethegreatbulkofassayableactivitywasfoundinthemicrosomalfractionupto6daysafterhatching.Peak“mitochondrial”activitywasat11daysofembryoniclife,andpeakmicrosomalactivitywaspresentjustbeforehatching(20days).Liverglycogenlevelswereextremelyvariablefromdaytodayupto28daysafterhatching,bearingbothdirectandinverserelationshipwithtotalliverglucose-6-phosphataseactivity.
