Developmental genetics of a lethal mutation, muscular dysgenesis (mdg), in the mouse: I. Genetic analysis and gross morphology☆☆☆
[摘要] Anewlethalmutationinthemousedesignatedmusculardysgenesis(mdg)wasfoundtobetransmittedasasingleautosomalrecessivegene.Themoststrikingeffectinnewbornmicehomozygousforthemdgmutationisasevere,generaldeficiencyofskeletalmusculature;cardiacandsmoothmusclesappearnormal.Thedeficiencyappearstobetheresultofageneticallydeterminedabnormalityofmusclecelldifferentiation.Variousotherabnormalitiesofthemdgsyndromearedescribedwhichappeartobetheresultofskeletalmuscledeficiency.Thepotentialvalueofthismutationforstudiesofmusclecelldifferentiationandfortheinvestigationoftheinteractionbetweenskeletalmusculatureandothersystemsduringdevelopmentisdiscussed.
