Nonproliferation in dermal condensations of mouse vibrissae and pelage hairs☆
[摘要] Theearlydevelopmentofmouseembryovibrissaeandpelagehairshasbeeninvestigatedbylabelingwithnucleicacidprecursorsandbyorgancultureprocedures.Assoonasdermalcondensationsformineitherhairtype,condensationcellsfailtoincorporateH3-thymidineorshowmitoses,althoughsuchcellscontinuetobindH3-uridineintoribonuclease-sensitivematerial.Condensationcellsremainrelativelyquiescentmitoticallyduringhairpegdowngrowthandfewadjacent(labeled)dermalcellsmigrateintothecondensationmass.Theseobservations,inconjunctionwithearlierwork,demonstrateremarkablesimilaritiesbetweenhairsandfeathersintermsofnonproliferationattimeswhensignificanttissueinteractionsarethoughttobeoccurring.
