The role of grafted skin in the regeneration of X-irradiated axolotl limbs☆
[摘要] Theprimaryaimoftheseexperimentswastofollowthecellsdescendedfromlimbskinthroughtheprocessoflimbregenerationtodeterminewhatrangeofdifferentiationsthesecellsmayassume.Triploidhindlimborforelimbskinwasgraftedtothedenudedthighsofdiploidhostaxolotlsthathadpreviouslyreceived3000RofXirradiationacrossbothhindlimbsandtheinterveningpelvicarea.Thehostlimbswerethenamputatedthroughtheirgraftsandpermittedtoregenerate.Cartilage,perichondrium,jointconnectivetissue,generalconnectivetissue,dermis,andepidermiswerepresentinalltheregeneratedlimbs,butonly10%oftheregeneratescontainedmuscle.Tabulationofnucleolarnumbersshowedthatthemajorityofcellsineachregeneratedtissueoriginatedfromthegraftedskin.Astrongcorrelationwasdemonstratedbetweentheforelimborhindlimboriginoftheskingraftsandthenumberofdigitsregenerated.
