[摘要] InUrechiseggsfertilizationresultsinatwo-tofourfoldincreaseinproteinsynthesiswhichcanbecompletelyinhibitedbycycloheximide.Thisinhibitiondoesnotpreventnormalmeiosis,chromosomedecondensation,orpronuclearfusion.ItdoesinhibitDNAsynthesisandfirstcleavageifthedrugisaddedupto55minpostfertilization.Ifaddedafterthistime,firstcleavageproceedsnormallybutsecondcleavageisinhibited.Artificiallyactivatedeggsdonotshowanincreaseinthelevelofproteinsynthesis,butdoundergonormalmeiosisandfirstS.However,theydonotformamitoticapparatusanddivide.Theseresultsarediscussedinthecontextofthenuclearandmacromolecularstateoftheunfertilizedeggandtherequirementsformeiosisandmitosis.
