Morphological observations on cultured lampbrush-stage Rana pipiens oocytes☆☆☆
[摘要] Earlylampbrush-stageoocytesarecharacterizedbysmalllampbrushchromosomeloops,asmallamountofribonucleoprotein(RNP)matrixontheloops,smallnucleoli,fewRNPparticlesinthenucleoplasm,andasmoothgerminalvesiclecontour.Invitrocultureoftheseoocytesinserum-freeculturemediumfor24hrat18°Cpromotesanumberofmorphologicalchangesintheoocytes:ThelampbrushloopsincreaseindiameterandacquireextensiveRNPmatrix,thenucleoliincreaseinsizeandcomplexity,thenucleoplasmaccumulatesnumerouspolymorphicRNPparticles,andthegerminalvesicleenvelopeacquiresasacculatedcontour.Thesecharacteristicsaretypicaloftheinvivomaximumlampbrushstage,andtheirappearanceisduetoanapparentinvitroaccelerationofthelampbrushphase.Twopossibleinterpretationsoftheseobservationsarediscussed.
