Centrifugation of developing oocytes leading to embryonic defects☆
[摘要] Drosophilamelangasterfemaleswerecentrifugedfor6hrat670g.Eggscollectedfromcentrifugedfliesfrequentlydevelopedintoabnormalembryosandlarvaewhichwereunabletohatch.Atypicalabnormalitywasthefusionofsegments,identifiedbythecuticlehairswhichmarklarvalsegmentalboundaries.Malformationofsegmentsoccurredmostfrequentlyinthemiddleregionofthelarva(segments6–9ofthe12larvalsegments).Theinductionofabnormalitiesisstagespecific.Theyoccurredinembryosdevelopingfromeggslaidupto33hraftercentrifugation;eggslaidlaterthan33hr(stage7,King,1970)showednoabnormalities.
