Lens differentiation in cultures of neural retinal cells of human fetuses☆

[摘要] Neuralretinalcellsofhumanfetusesatapproximately9and15weeksafterconceptionwereculturedinvitro.Inearlystagesofculturing(uptoabout10days),anumberofneuronalcellswithaxon-likeprocesseswereformed.Withinabout20days,manyneuronalcellsstartedtodegenerate,whileanumberof“lentoidbodies”wereidentifiedbyimmunoelectrophoresisandimmunofluorescenttechniquesusinganti-ratlensserumwhichcross-reactedwithhumancrystallins.Ultrastructuralobservationsalsorevealedthatcellsof“lentoidbodies”representtypicalprofilesoflensfibers.
