The early development of mesothoracic compartments in Drosophila: An analysis of cell lineage and fate mapping and an assessment of methods
[摘要] TheresultsfromthreemethodsofstudyingthecelllineageofearlyDrosophiladevelopmentarereported:clonalanalysis,theMinutetechnique,andgynandromorphfatemapping.Weconcludethatbyaboutonedivisionafterblastodermanteriorandposteriorgroupsofcellsinthemesothoraxareseparated,asarethegroupsofcellsthatgeneratedifferentsegments.Clonesproducedbyirradiationofeggsaged4±2hrdocrossfromwingtoleg,sothatthesetwodiscsshareacommonoriginuntilatleasttwodivisionsafterblastoderm.Thenumberofepidermalcellsinthewingdiscofthenewlyhatchedlarvaisestimatedatabout20cells.Gynandromorphfatemappingisdiscussedindetail.Itisconcludedthatsturtdistancesbetweenlandmarksarenotonlydeterminedbydistanceapartoftheirprogenitorcellsatblastoderm,butarestronglydependentoncompartmentalisationandotheraspectsofpostembryonicdevelopment.Theconsequencesofthisarediscussed.Wediscusstheevidencethatanteriorandposteriorgroupsofwingcellsmaybeadjacentatblastoderm.
