The timing of morphogenetic events in the regenerating forelimb of the axolotl, Ambystoma mexicanum☆☆☆
[摘要] Thetimingofmorphogeneticeventsintheregeneratingforelimboftheaxolotlwasinvestigatedbyrotationoflimbcoveringsatwell-definedstagesintheregenerativeprocess.Boththeskincoveringthestumpandtheepidermiscoveringtheregenerateweremanipulatedindependentlyandtogetherasaunit.Theresultsshowthatthetransmissionofmorphogeneticinformationcoversabroadrangeofregenerativestages.Thismorphogeneticinformationseemsfirsttobecomeirreversiblyfixedintheregeneratebythestageoflatebud.Theregenerateissensitivetostumpinfluencesatearlystagesofregeneration,butitbecomesinsensitivetostumpinfluencesbythestageofpalette.Evidenceispresentedwhichimpliesthatepidermisthatcoverstheregenerateiscapableofinfluencingmorphogenesis.
