[摘要] Whenfragmentsoftissuederivedfromoppositeendsofanimaginaldiscaremixedpriortoculture,intercalaryregenerationoccurssothatstructuresareproducedwhichneitherofthefragmentswouldhavemadewhenculturedalone.Wereportherethat,ifafragmentisirradiatedsoheavilywithXraysthatitscellsdonotsurvivecultureandmetamorphosis,itneverthelesscanstimulateregenerationbyafragmentwithwhichitismixed.
