Sequence organization in animal DNA and a speculation on hnRNA as a coordinate regulatory transcript☆
[摘要] TheproposalismadethathnRNAisacoordinateregulatorytranscriptconsistingprincipallyofrepetitiveregulatorysequencesandsingle-copyspacersequences.Thelargetranscriptionunitscharacteristicofanimalcellsareinterpretedasmechanismsforensuringtranscriptionofmultipleregulatorysignalsunderthecontrolofsingleinitiationsites.Thisorganizationoftranscriptionisconceivedtobeapartofthesystemwhichintegratesthecontrolofgeneexpression.AnimalDNAsequenceorganizationisconsideredinthislightandvariousconsequencesoftheseideasareexplored.Sometestablepredictionsaredevelopedfortwocases:(a)thattheregulatorysignalsarediffusibleRNAactivatorsoriginatingfromtheshortrepetitivesequencesinterspersedinhnRNAand(b)thattheregulatorysignalsareproteinactivatorscodedbymessagesequencesembeddedinthehnRNAtranscript.
