[摘要] ExtractsfromdormantanddevelopingembryosofArtemiasalinacontainalmostundetectablelevelsofproteaseactivity.However,afterhatchingofthenauplii,thereisahighincreaseintheactivityoftheextractsondifferentproteolyticsubstrates.Theactivitiescorrespondtofourdifferentenzymes,A,B,C,andD,thathaveasequentialtimingofinductionduringtheearlylarvaldevelopment.TheenzymesshowadifferentelutionpatternafterchromatographyonDEAE-celluloseandadifferentsensitivitytoproteaseinhibitors.EnzymeAisstronglyinhibitedbyphenylmethylsulfonylfluoride,whiletheotherenzymesaremostlyinsensitive.EnzymesA,B,andCaresensitiveatlowconcentrationsofthesoybeantrypsininhibitor.Thetemporalinductionoftheseenzymesisanexampleoftheexpression,atthebiochemicallevel,ofthedevelopmentalprogramofArtemiasalina.
