Protein synthesis during maturation promoting factor- and progesterone-induced maturation in Xenopus oocytes☆
[摘要] ThequantitativeandqualitativeaspectsofproteinsynthesisduringXenopusoocytematurationwereinvestigated.Progesteroneortheinjectionofmaturationpromotingfactor(MPF)bothincreasedproteinsynthesisapproximatelytwofoldrelativetocontrols.However,MPFinducedaprecociousincreaserelativetothetimeofgerminalvesiclebreakdowncomparedtothatobservedinresponsetoprogesterone.Examinationoftwo-dimensionalgelsshowedminimalchangesinthetypesofpolypeptidessynthesizedfromcontrolandprogesterone-andMPF-maturedoocytes.RathertherewasanoverallincreaseinthesynthesisofindividualpolypeptidesduringprogesteroneandMPF-inducedmaturation.
