Developmentally regulated transcription from Drosophila melanogaster chromosomal site 67B☆
[摘要] WehaveclonedandcharacterizedaninsertoftheDrosophilamelanogastergenomechosenforstudybecauseitishomologoustoRNAexpressedmoreabundantlyinearlypupaethaninembryos.Thisinsertcontainsaclusteroffivetranscriptcodingsegmentswithin8.5kilobases.Allofthetranscriptsthatwedescribearedevelopmentallyregulated,beingatmaximalabundanceinlate-third-instarlarvaeandearlypupae,andnotdetectableorveryrareinthird-instarlarvaeabout1daypriortopupariumformationandinlatepupae.Someofthetranscriptsaredetectableatlowlevelsinembryos.Unexpectedly,thisclonedinsertoverlapsthepreviouslydescribedheat-shockgeneclusteratcytologicallocation67B.Sequentially,wefindapreviouslyunknowncodingsegmentwithintheheat-shockcluster,thetwoheat-shockcodingsegments,andtwomorepreviouslyunknowncodingsegmentsbeyondtheheat-shockcodingsegments.Thus,twogeneswhichareinducedbyheatshockarealsofoundtobeexpressedwiththedevelopmentalregulationdescribedabove.
