[摘要] Thenumberofmyotubeclustersinvariouschickenhindlimbmuscleshasbeencountedatthetimeofmotoneuroncelldeathandfoundtobequantitativelysimilartothenumberofneuronswhichinnervatethesemusclesintheadult.Itisproposedthatthecapacityofamuscletosupportmotoneuronsisrelatedtothenumberof“myotubeclustersâ€inthatmuscleatthetimeofmotoneuroncelldeath.
